Andrew Hewett, a former journalist and corporate communications manager, has been appointed World Vision’s new media and corporate communications manager.
Hewett comes to World Vision with more than two decades of industry experience. After 10 years as a broadcast journalist in leading Australian media, Hewett has amassed a 12-year career in high-profile communications roles with such renowned global and national brands as Coca-Cola Amatil, Kraft and the giant of Reece Group Plumbing.
Hewett said he was drawn to World Vision because of its vital mission and world-renowned goal of empowering vulnerable children, families and communities to overcome poverty.
“My family is passionate about supporting the community and those less fortunate, which is one of the reasons I couldn’t be happier to join the World Vision team,” said Hewett. “Clearly the team has a vision and purpose aligned with many rich and interesting stories to tell. I look forward to playing my part in raising awareness of the great work that is being done, locally and globally, to support and empower vulnerable people.
