Former local TV presenter Dominic Heale has joined Leicester-based training company PLC Media.

Heale will provide media training and communications advice for the company, which was started in 2013 by fellow former regional TV news anchor Dan Baker.

spent a little over a decade presenting the news on ITV Central, then 20 years on the famous red sofa at BBC East Midlands Today. He has interviewed countless celebrities and high-ranking politicians, from Thatcher to Blair to Clegg and Cameron.

Asked about the ups and downs of his career, he said: “A definite high point was interviewing Felicity Kendall – like most boys, I had a crush on her in the ’70s! Winning a major prize for the coverage of the discovery of King Richard III from a parking lot in Leicester was truly memorable. A low point arose when I was working on the radio: I recorded an interview with Neil Kinnock at an airport and then realized, just after his plane took off, that there was no tape. in my tape recorder!

Baker said, “I am delighted that Dominic is providing training to our clients, both online and in person. He brings incredible authority and seriousness to the training and offers such wise and thoughtful support and advice. And of course, it’s always great to see how blown away people are when they come face to face with a TV legend like Dominic. It’s wonderful to have him on board.
