SIGGRAPH 2022 hybrid conference boasts notable numbers with in-person and virtual attendees


CHICAGO,/PRNewswire/ – SIGGRAPH 2022the 49e annual conference and exhibition on computer graphics and interactive techniques, closed the in-person portion of the conference, August 8-11, 2022 in Vancouver, Canada, with over 11,700 attendees, over 90 exhibitors from 16 countries, outstanding speakers and a variety of panels, programs and hands-on experiences. Access to the virtual component of SIGGRAPH 2022 will continue until October 31, 2022.

SIGGRAPH 2022 offered a platform to share outstanding offerings in digital art, technology, computing, and various innovations from over 2,400 contributors. The conference and virtual experience was enjoyed by international audiences from 74 countries and garnered over 30,000 views during live stream sessions throughout the four-day in-person conference. The top five programs followed on the virtual platform included technical papers, birds of a feather, lectures, courses and “Each year we bring together our global community to show how computer graphics and interactive techniques are shaping the ‘future,’ said Munkhtsetseg Nandigjav, SIGGRAPH 2022. Being face to face at these SIGGRAPH conferences is an annual recharge. It is an opportunity to come together to learn, share our passions and enrich our skills. Round tables allowed attendees to directly connect and hold intimate conversations with contributors of technical articles, art articles, courses and discussions, and to interact in small groups

Emerging technologies and Immersive pavilion presented the latest innovations in virtual reality, augmented and mixed reality

Metaverse discussions and workshops have been covered in the Featured Speakers, Borders, Application time, Live in real time!, and Course programs

VR theater showcased the evolution of storytelling and the growth of virtual reality content
