Qatar Media Corporation has won three awards at the end of the 15th Gulf Radio and Television Festival organized by GCC Radio and Television in Manama under the theme “Our Media is Our Identity”.
The program “Speed”, produced by Al Kass Sports Channels, received the Golden Sail in the category of sports programs. Qatar Radio received the Golden Veil for its radio program “Climate Change”, while the program “Fastabko Al Khairat – Be Ahead of Good Deeds”, produced by Qatar TV, received the Silver Veil in the category of religious programs.
“Sailing” was chosen as the design for the festival awards to embody the bond that unites the Gulf nations as coastal countries linked to the sea and to sailing – an integral part of identity and heritage.
Qatar Media Corporation participated in a distinguished pavilion which reviewed the radio and television works participating in the festival competition.
“Sa’et Marah – Fun Hour” program competed in the family and children’s program category, “Al’Omr Mara – Life is Once” series competed in the community drama category, “Al Jar – The Neighbour” entered in the Comedy Drama category, “Al Bawsala – The Compass” entered in the Variety Program category, “Fastabiko Al Khairat – Be Ahead of Good Deeds” in the Program Category religious, “Ghabga” in the category of talk shows and “Speed” in the category of sports programs.
The festival also included four seminars attended by media professionals from Qatar and the Gulf.
The seminars focused on the future of fame and responsibility, the future of media literacy in the Gulf, Gulf women in the media and youth experiences.
Former Qatar Media Corporation CEO Mubarak bin Jaham al-Kuwari, former Qatar TV director Mohammed Abdulrahman al-Kuwari and former Qatar Radio Ali director Nasser al-Kubaisi were honored by the festival in recognition of their media careers. .(QNA)
