The Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP) has announced the members of the OSAP Board of Directors 2022-2023.
“We are delighted to have David Kierce as the new Chairman of our Association’s Board of Directors for 2022-2023. A long-time OSAP supporter, with a wealth of knowledge in business marketing and finance, David will help position OSAP’s reach and influence for years to come,” says Michelle Lee, Executive Director.
David Kerce is the global platform leader for Dentsply-Sirona’s line of infection prevention products. Kierce has been part of the Dentsply-Sirona team for over 25 years. He started at DENTSPLY Ceramco in June 1993 as a territory sales representative. From there, his career grew to include leadership roles in special markets, merchandising and marketing.
Steve Geiermann, DDS, FACD, FICD was elected vice-president. Dr. Geiermann, a retired captain of the United States Public Health Service, serves as the senior manager for access, community oral health infrastructure, and capacity at the American Dental Association (ADA).
He has served as Dental Director in Indian Health Service and Federally Qualified Health Centers as well as HRSA Regional Dental Consultant and Project Manager in National Health Service Corps and HIV/AIDS Bureau. He served on the board of the National Network for Oral Health Access (NNOHA) and was an expert advisor for Safety Net Solutions seeking to improve the financial stability and productivity of health centers.
He currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Oral Health Progress and Equity Network (OPEN) and the Board of Directors of the American Institute of Dental Public Health (AIDPH).
Steve Wright, MBA will serve as treasurer. Mr. Wright is the Vice President of Global Marketing for Young Innovations, a 100+ year old dental manufacturing company that manufactures some of the industry’s leading brands in the infection prevention, restorative and control categories. . In this role, he provides strategic leadership and creative direction for all of the company’s marketing activities, including brand management, lead generation, new product launches, digital marketing and e-commerce.
Mr. Wright has participated in OSAP as a corporate sponsor for over 10 years and has a passion for improving infection control practices in the dental office while spreading the message of OSAP throughout the dental industry. Mr. Wright holds an MBA from Washington University at St. Louis Olin Business School and a BA in Journalism from the University of Oswego.
Mr. Wright has been in the dental market for over 20 years.
Prior to joining Young in 2004, Steve worked for Lanmark360, a healthcare marketing agency primarily focused on the dental industry.
Ramneek Rai, DDS was elected secretary. Dr. Rai is Director of Health and Safety and Assistant Clinical Professor HS in the Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences at UCSF School of Dentistry. She is an alumnus of the UCSF School of Dentistry where she received her DDS degree in 2009. Dr. Rai has been active in private practice and academia after completing her graduate studies in general dentistry at UT Dental Branch, Houston, in 2010.
Dr. Rai has served as the Director of Health and Safety at the UCSF School of Dentistry since 2018, where she successfully led the school during the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)’s last site visit and ensured safe operations at the UCSF Dental Center through the COVID-19 pandemic.
She has been instrumental in implementing various evidence-based measures to protect frontline dental workers and patients during the pandemic. In her day-to-day role, she successfully manages an infection prevention program in the 17 dental clinics that report to the UCSF Dental Center, many of which student learners receive their clinical training.
Newly elected members of our board include Kimberly Grensavitch, MJ, BA, RDH, Col Kelli C. Mack, DDS, Marguerite Walsh and Michael Williamson, JD, CHC, CCEP.
Kimberly Grensavitch, MJ, BA, RDH is a Registered Dental Hygienist with a Masters in Health Law and has worked in the dental field since 1999. She has also obtained the OSAP-DALE Foundation Dental Infection Prevention and Control Certificate.
She served as Regulatory Compliance Manager for a large accredited dental organization in Wisconsin prior to her current role as Regulatory Compliance Advisor for SKYGEN USA.
She is passionate about patient safety and has lectured and published nationally on infection control in dentistry.
She is also dedicated to public health and helped start a free dental clinic in her community in 2015 and continues to serve on their board.
Col Kelli C. Mack, DDS Currently serves as Assistant Director of Dental Research and Consult Service (DRCS), Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), and Patient Safety at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio , Texas.
Dr. Mack advises the Air Force Medical Readiness Agency (AFMRA) on current issues related to dental infection prevention and control and patient safety, acts as a liaison between DoD and DHA consultants, dental specialties, including but not limited to infectious disease (ID), epidemiology, operating room nursing, instrument processing, bioenvironmental engineering (BEE), public health (PH), and disease prevention MTF infections.
Col Mack opens and maintains lines of communication with Federal regulatory and advisory agencies including OSHA, FDA, EPA, OSAP, CDC and other recognized authorities in the areas of Dental IPC and patient safety. As the Air Force Dental Consultant for Dental Infection Control and Patient Safety, she develops and publishes approved guidelines and training for the Air Force’s dental infection prevention and control and patient safety programs. ‘USAF.
In this role, Col Mack helps USAF dental clinics develop effective programs by disseminating information through periodic IPC and patient safety updates and through direct, written and on-the-job communications. website. Col Mack is also responsible for assisting with operational issues, including assisting in the investigation of patient safety events. Col Mack received a direct commission into the US Air Force Dental Corps after graduating from Howard University College of Dentistry, Washington, DC.
She completed a Fellowship in Patient Safety and Infection Prevention and Control at Veterans Affairs Pittsburgh Healthcare System, Pittsburgh, PA. Colonel Mack served as the first consultant to the Air Force’s Surgeon General for Dental Infection Control and Patient Safety in 2014.
Prior to her current position, she was a general dentist and MDG IPC consultant at Travis ABF in California.
Marguerite Walch is Vice President, Product Merchandising at Henry Schein Dental. She is responsible for securing, maintaining and exceeding Henry Schein Dental’s position as the market leader in product offerings and category market share, while meeting internal gross profit expectations. , inventory management and marketing expenses.
Ms. Walsh is also responsible for developing Henry Schein Dental’s expertise in certain product categories and developing plans that will result in increased market share and/or profitability. In addition, Ms. Walsh is responsible for specialty sales programs and relationships with new and existing suppliers.
Ms. Walsh joined the Henry Schein team in 1991 and has worked in the dental industry for over 35 years.
Michael Williamson, JD, CHC, CCEP is the Chief Compliance Officer/Chief Privacy Officer of Pacific Dental Services LLP. He is a compliance and ethics professional specializing in healthcare compliance for over 20 years. He is passionate about leveraging organizational values and culture to optimize risk mitigation. Michael is admitted to the Massachusetts Bar, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and the New York Bar.
He founded a law firm specializing in all aspects of healthcare compliance, served as Assistant General Counsel in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services, and served as Chief Compliance Officer , Vice President of Risk Management and Chief Privacy Officer in the private sector where he successfully designed and implemented ethics and compliance programs rooted in the principles of self- – governance based on values.
