Edo unveils tech training program for 5,000 women – 9News Nigeria


The Edo State Government, in partnership with Udacity, a global online education organization, has announced the opening of 5,000 places for women under the EdoWorX Tech Fundamentals program.

The Managing Director of Edo State Skills Development Agency, EdoJobs, Ms. Ukinebo Dare, said in a statement that the EdoWorX Tech Fundamental program run by the agency will provide scholarships to train women the technological skills required.

She said the initiative “provides scholarships to train residents of Edo State with a greater focus on women on in-demand technology skills in areas such as web development fundamentals, data analysis and the fundamentals of digital marketing”.

According to her, the EdoWorX Tech Fundamentals program is a technology development initiative for beginners with no technology background, adding that the program aims to create the next generation of digital work professionals in the best digital fields and to enable young people to use opportunities available within and outside Edo State.

“This partnership will benefit more than 800 women in Edo who have already received training on high-demand technology skills in areas such as web development, data analytics and digital marketing, which started in February 2022. “Dare explained.

She added that the program, which is sponsored by the Edo State Government and the World Bank, is powered by EdoJobs in partnership with Udacity, so that all residents of the state can pursue a career in technology. , even without prior experience.
